Description
It’s the white plastic pipe commonly used for plumbing and drainage. PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, and it’s become a common replacement for metal piping. PVC’s strength, durability, easy installation, and low cost have made it one of the most widely used plastics in the world. PVC is a thermoplastic material that is molded into different shapes to create pipes, fittings, valves and other liquid handling supplies.
TYPES OF PVC
- PLAIN PVC
These are low in cost, light and corrosion resistant. They are a popular choice for many plumbers and builders. Because of its thermostatic nature, they can be properly molded once.
- C-PVC
CPVC means chlorinated PVC. As these pipes have higher level of chlorine content, they can withstand a broad spectrum of temperatures.
- U-PVC
UPVC means unplasticized PVC. These are made with more rigid material and usually used for water waste transport.
